ABOUT

Daniel Ouimet is a singer-songwriter based in Durham, NC. His music is rooted in folk, blues, and rock, and draws upon many other musical styles. He also performs with the folk duo Dandelions at Midnight and other local musicians.
As a multi-instrumentalist, Daniel learned the drums at an early age and, in later years, taught himself to sing and play the mandolin, upright bass, and harmonica. His early drumming influences were heavily inspired by John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Keith Moon (The Who), and Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix Experience). Jazz greats such as Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa were also instrumental in expanding Daniel’s musical world by introducing him to the art of drum soloing. Other inspirations include J.J. Cale, John Prine, and Blaze Foley.
